Congratulations to Arevalo Ledesma and Edmund King Kizer for winning first and second places, respectively, in the Filipino Singing Idol 2010, first round contest, held at the Rizal Hall last February 5.

Both young men arrived in Toronto only last year. Ledesma, who did gigs singing Elvis Presley songs in bars in the Philippines, sang an impressive Presley number, “Johnny Be Good”. Kizer, a nursing graduate, who had also done a lot of singing in the Philippines, belted out “Help Me”.

The two winners will be competing in the 2010 Filipino Singing Idol Grand Finals at Nathan Phillips Square on June 13.

The second round of the FSI is on March 26, while the third round is on April 30. Those interested to participate in the competition are requested to call FCT at 416-928-9355.
